About Oualie Beach Resort

The resort started on January 3rd, 1980, as a simple beach bar nestled in the cove of Oualie Bay on the best beach in Nevis. On November 16th, 1989, the first 6 rooms were opened. It has gradually evolved into an eco-sensitive 32 room beachfront property with Caribbean charm.

​​​​The owners are the Yearwoods, a large West Indian family with roots that trace 350 years back to England. Managing Director, John Yearwood, met his American wife, Karen, in West Africa and they have traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and Africa. These travels have helped them create the perfect Nevis beach hotel with excellent local & international cuisine, and a casual relaxed ambiance infused with the warm, friendly welcome of genuine Caribbean people.
